You are about 10 years too late for this one. Try the collectors market FWIW this is an early Pegasus effort and the moldings are not nearly what he makes today. You are better off with the RarePlanes "Warbirds" vac kit, which is probably more affordable. >Any opinions of C.W. Atkins vacs? Only two kits were produced, both 1/48, both in about 1988, a Fokker Dr-I (long before the DML kit eclipsed it) and a Sopwith Camel Night fighter. Both kits have pretty soft vac formed pieces, but they aren't unworkable. Both also feature some of the finest white metal castings anyone has ever done (this was Atkins' specialty, check out some of his long OOP white metal kits). The Dr-I also featured some PE brass bits for the guns and cockpit. There is NO PE with the Camel. Neither kit included decals. Maybe I do like you and paint the sharkmouth with the green/mauve finish. ********************************************************************* Joey Valenciano WW1 modeller, teacher, jazz musician, joeyval@pusit.admu.edu.ph sitarist tel. None of these had fiddly bits, but were all around $9.00 US. These are the three RarePlanes releases of single seater WW I types under the Warbirds label (the Gotha was a true RarePlanes release). All three of these were put out some time between 1974 and 1981, the Pfalz was the last to be released. All three are fine vac kits and have aged well, though how well they compare with more recent scale drawings I do not know. They all came along before the time of Contrail extruded strut material and Aeroclub wheels, so back then you had to raid your Revell or Entex Nieuport or Fokker D-VII for props, wheels and the like in order to build them up. In today's market, $9.00 is a slightly high but not unreasonable price. Yet another fine vac kit, the corrugations are quite well done, its amost a preferrable kit to build over the Pegasus offering of this.
