Here's a question for Brian Nicklas. What is the FS Number for the green used on the metal parts of Stropp? Thanks for your help! Cheers! I'll give you the FS on the Green on Stropp on Monday. Remember to paint the tail with a nat. linen color, not white if you are doing "Stropp." Brian ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Apr 1996 20:26:46 -0800 From: bshatzer@orednet.org (Bill Shatzer) To: wwi Subject: Waldo Resins Bristol M1C?? Hopefully, we will see a German DIII and DI & DII. It's a shame that Chris is still using that soft white metal for the struts. However, that's okay, I will be taking my DV struts and making resin copies. This just further justifies the expense in the materials. That white metal is just too soft to trust with hours of work and $15 into the kit! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Apr 1996 00:46:33 -0500 From: DavidL1217@aol.com To: wwi Subject: Re: Stropp Message-ID: <960406004632_370059441@emout07.mail.aol.com> It can also be argued that the fuselage was originally a bit darker than the finished NASM restoration. Probably closer to the Canberra example. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Apr 1996 00:49:47 -0500 From: DavidL1217@aol.com To: wwi Subject: Re: Old kit wish list Message-ID: <960406004947_370060664@emout06.mail.aol.com> With all of the great new kits coming out, I have quit chasing down old, inacurate kits. However, there is one kit still on the hit list. This is the 1/24 Caudron G3 from the Swiss firm Metropolitan. Model Expo offered these in the early 80's. Whats the going rate for one of these? Anybody have Model Expo's or Metropolitan's address? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Apr 1996 23:17:36 -0800 From: bshatzer@orednet.org (Bill Shatzer) To: wwi Subject: Re: Old kit wish list Message-ID: <199604060717.AA16876@ednet1.orednet.org> Someone wrote: > >With all of the great new kits coming out, I have quit chasing down old, >inacurate kits. Anybody >have Model Expo's or Metropolitan's address? > John Burns "Collectors' Value Guide" gives a suggested value of '$100 and up' for these. Release date is given as 1982 and he indicates Metropolitan is outa business and no longer in production. If it matters, the address I've got for Metropolitan back in 1982 is 1052 le Mont, Lausanne, Switzerland. However, I understand that Metropolitan was just the marketing company for these kits and the actual manufacturer was Pocher (not that Pocher is likely to still have a couple lying around in the back room!) The three additional 1/24 Metropolitan kits which were advertised (Morane Saulnier N, Taube, und SPAD XIII) were, alas, never released.
