Anybody can help? I have the following "popular" hits for sources: WW1 Aero #150: cockpits/instruments Windsock Vol 5 No 2: Feature article, including *1/72nd* plans Windsock Vol 10 No 1: Review of 1/72nd Eduard model > - The kit, injection parts, are they correct, or must be modified in shape > or dimensions? >From what I understand, they're pracitcally spot on. > - I see a lot of photoetched. Is this all I need or I must get something= > else? > motor? machine guns?=20 Enough photoetch? Huh? :-) Seriously, everything you need for the kit is there. > - Decals: any experience with propagteam decals? > markings propossed are correct, or you think I must get some other= > decal sheet, suggestions? As other posters have alluded to, PropagTeam decals are not the easiest to deal with. However, they are some of the thinnest on the market, and lay down quite well. The problem is getting them where they belong. From my experience, use *lots* of water as you're laying them down, and try to get them as close to the correct position as possible on the first try. The suck down snug fairly quickly. Do *not* use Solvaset, as it *will* dissolve the decals. Also make sure your gloss overcoat is as glossy as possible. If you're dealing with older PropagTeam decals (like those that come in the old KP kits), forget even using them. I've tried to use decals from two KP kits, and they dissolved in *water*. > - Colors: Instructions talk about Cloth, Medium gray and RFC Green > Somebody can give me an aprox Federal Standard to this colors? Someone else will have to help out here. If you're into Polly S/Polly Scale, try the Clear Doped linen. Out of the bottle is fine, especially since the linen took on different hues over time. > -The rigging propossed in the instructions is correct and complete? As far as is known. Granted, I don't have the official rigging instructions, but from what I've seen in pictures, follow the instructions and all will be well. I believe it is the last one scheduled #60 so it should be out around Thanksgiving (maybe Christmas). BTW, does anyone think it is about time Rimmel strarted paying attention to floatplanes & flying boats? 60 datafiles and only 2 in the last 6 on these topics (plus the recently released mini on the W.4) jeesh :) I assume, it will contain the info from Windsock 5#2 and 10#1 (which would keep you from tracking these puppies down). I also expect that Rimmel and Co. will provide alot of the color details that you are asking about. If you are an accuracy fanatic, I'd reccomend that you wait unil the datafile is released before proceding (which is what I am going to do for my second effort). otherwise, the Eduard model is a very accurate model (I built a Schnieder from the box last year before my son was born -- nice kit).
