In the meantime, from memory, it's not too bad: it's certainly your basic F2b, but the engine and cowling/radiator assembly need a bit of work to bring it up to scratch. Get back to ya....... Has >anyone ever 'corrected' this kit and if so what did you do? > >--Jesse I've never actually done a correction but a dim memory sez the fuselage is pretty good while the wings and tail surfaces ain't right. But, that was -long- ago and I'll be damned if I can remember -exactly- what the problems were with the wings and tail surfaces. Not much help I realize but the same dim memory sez that my conclusion was that the problems were fixable. (Although that was back in my younger days when I tended to feel that a 'fixable' kit was one that only required rebuilding everthing to the rear of the firewall from sheet styrene) Or as Bob Dylan sang, "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." The photo in the FSM workbench review points up part of the problem, all of the colors in the top fabric have a decidedly greenish cast to them, this is not the way that actual specimens of the fabric I have seen look. some of the lower colors, notably the yellow are too bright and perhaps too pale. Give me your address and I'll send it to you if you like; although my advice would be to wait for the Eduard version. Send me the postage and kit payment after you receive the kit and I'll be happy. The kit I is right at eleven dollars here in Alaska, everything is higher here though. On the other hand there is no sales tax in Anchorage so there is a tendancy for this to even out outside prices. I expect the postage will be as much as the model though. In the constant changing world of deadlines, and working on tight schedules, coupled with a new person doing the proofing (also a modeler and is like a kid in a candy store at the time) some errors got out. We are fully aware of them and will make the necessary corrections in the next one. The goal is to have none, but mistakes do happen. Word has it that our shipment of the new Eduard kits are on the way. Watch the home page for arrival info and pricing. If anyone needs the url, it is: http://www.squadron.com/mailorder/ If any one is looking for a good paint booth, we have the spec sheets for a new one that will be available within a few weeks. If anyone would like more info, please E-mail me at this address and I will get the info back to you. Happy modeling.
