I'm disconnecting from my service in preperation for my move to Washington state. I have really appreciated the information and truly enjoyed the discourse with all concerned. Good luck and good hunting! I take my gloved hand from the throttle and looking toward the formation I raise it into the slipstream in a final salute. Then I return my hand to the throttle and push it forward while pulling the stick almost imperceptibly back and to the right as I simultaneously feed in right rudder. The Camel responds immediately, like a fine thoroughbred, and bucks rapidly up and off to starboard, away from the formation, into a deep blue sky, towards clouds that are building on the horizon. The billowing, white, clouds are tinged with pinkish-orange from the rising sun. It is the start of a brilliant morning and a bright day. TALLY HO! - I'm Gone. Good luck and good hunting! Hey; if you're coming to Seattle, please look me up. I can be found at tontoni@halcyon.com or (206)328-1753. Or, you can come to the IPMS Seattle meetings on the second Saturday of the month at the Washington Nat'l Guard Armory from 10:00 to about 12:00 (or until we get tired of eachother, whichever comes first). I'll be there too -- wearing the Sonics sweatshirt and the Mariner's baseball cap. I just described about 1/2 the male population of Seattle, BTW. Good luck on the move. --Stephen Tontoni ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 May 1996 14:12:20 -0700 (PDT) From: Erik Pilawskii To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: Departing the formation Message-ID: Wrench, So long from the group, at least for now. Well, that depends. The highest scoring Australian ace was Robert Alexander (Bob) Little, though he flew, not with the Australian Flying Corps but with the RNAS. Second highest scorer Roderick Stanley (Stan) Dallas was also an RNAS ace. I doubt whether flying for the RNAS should diqualify them as Aussie aces, since (for example) none of the Canucks flew with a Canadian force. Third highest scorer, highest scoring survivor and highest scoring AFC ace was A.H. (Harry) Cobby. At this point my memory starts to fail, but King was fourth.
