Kurt Wolff, commander of Jasta 11, was shot down and killed while flying F.1 102/17 on September 15, 8 days -before- Voss was killed. MvR was apparently on leave at this time. More than a hundred delegates are expected, with some attending from Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and from many of the fifty American states. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// /////////////// I attended the seminar two years ago in Ottawa and it was great. As far of the festivities we had a barbeque(I'm sure someone from Texas will correct my spelling on that and advise me that real barbeque doesn't exist North of the Pecos, or some such thing) in the Air History Museum. Afterward we were given free reign of the entire complex and got to see various aircraft in different stages of restoration. I got some nice shots of a BE2c, Nieuport 10 and an almost completed Pup. This year they are going to have a modeling contest for the first time. When I talked to Barry at Rosemont he said that he would show some of his. The judging is interesting. If you get so many point, you are awarded some sort of medal. If you enter 5 airplanes(any scale) from different countries you become an ace if at least one of them gets 85 points. I don't think there is any soprt of 1st place 2nd place etc. I'm going to enter some stuff for the first time. However, whenever I try and pick something to enter, I keep seeing all those damned mistakes I made. Anyway, I hope to meet some of you guys there if you attend. On the Richtoffen biography the other night I noticed that FI/102, at least on the day that Tony Fokker filmed it, had a streaked rear fuselage on the right side of the a/c. It also had solid areas of color at other random points on the fuselage. I have read speculation that it was at sometime in it's short career decorated with red areas. As we say around here 'go figure'. Cheers!
