The First Warplanes

I just spoke with Leo Opdyke about the Ryder Replica Museum
and The First Warplanes. Seems Frank had said he planned on
putting into his will to leave the the Museum an endowment
to keep it going. And I *think* to perhaps leave it all to
The First Warplanes. He did not get around to doing this.
His heirs it seems are more interested in cash than replica
aircraft. They had their lawyers fire Joe Gertler just after
the accident (silly since he is probably the world's authority
on WWI parts and planes from a selling standpoint). Leo
thought that perhaps the heirs have now retained Joe's services
to help dispose of the equipmment.

Bottom line is this organization seems to be dead. A shame really.
