Hi everyone,

Here is my first attempt at a review of a new kit. I hope everyone will
bear with me here. If we get more of these along the way I'll try to make
a section on the WWI Web Page for them. I've followed a format used on
the Rec.Models.Scale Web Page for a start.

Out of the Box (Bag really) Review

Kit: Nieuport Triplane
Scale: 1/72
Kit #: 805?
Manufacturer: Roseplane - Rosemont Hobby Shop
Price: $22.95
Release Date: April '95 (I got one of the first of these manufactured)
Media: All Alluminite Resin Parts
Deacls: None
Comments: This is another in Rosemont's Roseplane line of high pressure resin
kits. Casting quality is excellent for all parts including small parts like
the engine, cowling and wheels. The only parts that you might replace would
be the Vickers guns. Aeroclub guns are slightly better.
The kit includes ALL parts necessary including all the (complex) wing struts
which are well cast. Rib, cockpit stitching and engine detail are excellent.
The Fuselage is one-piece but hollow through the cockpit section. Holes
for rudder and aleron wires are pre-drilled in the fuselage with wonderfully
small diammeter holes. All the wings come taped to cardboard to insure
that they are completely flat and don't warp during shipping.
Decals are not included but can be easilly obtained through Super Scale
or similar manufacturers. This kit looks like it will make a nice finished
model with very little extra parts. The addition of photo-etch cockpit details
and your preference in rigging material are all that appears necessary.
I will give a more detailed review after I begin working on building this
nice kit.
