Budgets aside, it's still expensive :-) The problem with the datafiles is
their
transient nature. It should be the case that when you really get down to it
and want
to build a particular model, you can buy that datafile. As it is, however, if
you didn't
buy it when it was released, there's a good chance you can't get it at all.
Given the
price of these tiny booklets, you can spend a whole lot of money on
documentation
you'll never use aside from general interest. If you're a WWI fanatic, that's
probably
ok. If you build other things as well, it means spending several hundred
dollars per
year "just in case". BTW, I do subscribe to both the datafiles and the
magazine so
this is not simply sour grapes. Just a view of their distribution policy.
