Actually, its Chicago that never had the show before. Columbus hosted in
1973. Its not a bad place to go, and about 4 hours closer for me then
Chicago would be, but I was pulling for the Windy City. I've never had more
then a few hours downtown there in the past. I don't know what factors
influenced the Executive Board in their choice. I'm sure Columbus will be a
good host. I believe that theres an Armor museum within reach (Fort Knox ?),
although I can't remember where.

The biggest attraction in Chicago was probably the city itself. The Museum
of Science and Industry has some interesting stuff, but a lot of its
inaccessible for study or photography.

Its too early to worry about next year. I still haven't sorted out what I
bought at Albuquerque. I know I did a lot for Ray Rimmel's trade balance.

Columbus, Ohio. Other than being 60 miles from Wright-Pat, none of us here in
Denver could figure out what they have to offer over Chicago, except that
they've not had the show before. *shrug*

I will be at the '96 show in Virginia Beach, hopefully. Not many more places
in the "western" third of the country that would be within driving distance
of
Denver, but I can hope. Maybe Salt Lake City will bid. Their R10 Regional
last
year was actually rather well done. Much further west than SLC, though, and I
have to buy plane tickets. Guess I got spoiled, what with Omaha last year and
Albu-quirky this year, both driving distance from Denver... :-)
