Salutations,

I grabbed several line drawings of the SS D.III and IV and had a go at
comparing them directly to the kit's wings (by resizing the drawings to
1/72). Basically (they were essentially all in agreement), the kit is in
fact a late production D.III. The bottom wings' shape is right on. The
top wing is correct in span, measured to the tip of the ailerons. But,
the main-plane edges are too far inboard from the aileron edge, by about
1mm. The effect is to somewhat alter the wing planform, albeit only slightly.
I suppose one could either fix the error-- quite easily-- or just ignore it.
In all other respects, it 'measured up' very well, with the rudder
getting particular mention for conforming to such a complicated shape.
