I use "metallic" thread, secured in place via CA. Basically, tack-down
one end, pull it taught around (or to) its destination, and secure with
CA. A high quality thread is required (several German mfgs. come to mind);
poor quality is a disaster. You may coat/seal as desired.
The effect, with practice, looks like 'wire'.
