Buy a store display case (your spouse will love it in the living room!)
I got a 6 1/2 foot display case for $100 at 'going out of business sale'
of a local clothing store. The thing's got two glass shelves,
fluoresent lights to show off the models and holds about 50 mixed
1/48 and 1/72 models. (with some WW2 1/72 bombers mixed in as well -
if it was all WW1, <unless of course, you're into building a
squadron of Zeppelin "R" planes> probably 20 more models would fit.

Anyway, it works out to $2 or less per model, a heck of a lot cheaper
than those little acrylic cases - and with a store display case,
unlike those little acrylic cases, there is *no* way for the cat
can knock it on to the floor.

Oh, be nice to your brother-in-law. Store display cases weigh
a *ton*, you'll need help getting it into the basement (which
actually is better for marital harmony than trying to set it up
in the living room.)

Cheers,
