In the venerable 'Profile #25' on the D-VII, one of the color views is of a
very early Fokker (streaked camouflage on the fuselage) flown by Lt. Alois
Heldman: black and white checkerboard horizontal tail, yellow nose, and
yellow 'AH' monogram on the right side of the upper wing. I've been told
this was originally illustrated in the 1963 Cavalier Magazine series on
German WWI fighters. Does anyone know where there is a photo showing this
scheme?
