I'm one of those 1/48th builders, although not exclusively.
I pretty much build whatever scale that I can find a certain
aircraft in, as long as its 1/72 or larger. Right now there
there are a lot of really cool kits coming out with photo
etched parts and extra details compared to when we were
kids.
Have fun with it; that's the point. And to reiterate someone
who responded to the "slams" comment: this is one of the
nicer groups that I've ever seen. There is a lot of friendly
jibing going on, that's about it. It doesn't seem like
anyone here has an axe to grind or anything. Just modelers.
