N(Spa).124 and SPAD's

According to the booklet Glen Merril supplies with Americal/Gryphon's
decal sheet for the Escadrille Lafayette:

"Near the end of 1917, as operations were winding down, the unit is
reported to have received some SPAD XIII aircraft, although
photographic confirmation is lacking."

His research is usually spot on, so as of 1991 (the copyright date),
this probably was the latest information. The decal sheet does show
a few SPAD VII's, so we know for a "photographic fact" they flew the
VII. Other references I have are _The Vivid Air_ and _In Clouds of
Glory_ (I think that's the title), which contains biographies of all
known members of the Escadrille Lafayette - as well as pictures of
their planes.

The majority type of aircraft flown by N.124 were Nieuports 11, 16,
17, 21, 23, 24 and 27.

Hope this helps.

Matt
