Whether to Weather

I generally don't weather my models much for reasons previously stated -
short life span. I do like to apply washes and drybrush because it helps
bring out the detail and improve the overall appearance of the model.

I try to model a particular aircraft and will use photos when available
to determine the finish. Some aircraft had a long service life and show
the effects of the elements and prolonged service. Seaplanes and aircraft
in low activity theaters seemed to have a longer service life. So, if
possible, check photos to see how much wear and tear an aircraft suffered.
