As far as being biased against pilot figures, I can't say, since I judge
armor (and the head armor judge for IPMS would ever let me hear the end of it
if I defected to the aircraft gang). But I will say this-- there are a lot of
gorgeous aircraft replete with detailed interior every year. Now, when I look
at a good pilot figure, I can't see interior. And then I look at the plane next
to it with a full interior, and it just looks like more work was done, there.
I also paint figures, and I know about how long the average "contest quality"
job takes on a figure. And quite frankly, it's not as long as the time required
to detail out an interior. It's not bias, just a judgement of who has done the
most work.
