I have a photo of what purports to be EV 156/18, without "Onkel
Theo" sitting on the axle, finished as above, but I'm wondering why it
carries Jasta 6's b&w tulip-petal nose and striped wheel-discs,

THe aircraft given in my source [Aces and aircraft of World War I],
is again 156/18

Which is why I couldn't understand the above photo.
