Stacking pads are small metal "bumps" about 35mm in diameter that were
attached to many Fokker designed aircraft. They are put on the leading edge
of the wing to prevent scuffing the leading edge during assembly or
transport. Most German A/c traveled by car trailer and rail
quite often so diasassembly was a regular thing.
