In 2000 a fellow R/C club member Ted Wolf, who is an avid WW-I and Golden Age modeler, came across four aviation post card
scrapbooks at a garage sale here in Oklahoma City. At the time I had access to a very high quality scanner and complete Adobe
Photoshop software. So in the interest of preserving these aviation historical jewels I made my first attempt at scanning and filing. The
originals have been returned to Ted and the following 108 photographs have been sorted in alphabetical order by aircraft manufacturer.
Hopefully I will be able to get the other three scrapbooks in 2004.

CDL. Comment by Nick Carey-Harris :This is a picture of a Sopwith Dove. The rear seat is set further back than a single seat and the decking/cowling has been altered to accept another seat. The fuel tank was moved to the floor under a seat (not sure which one . . the front I think) and a wind driven fuel pump was added. This was Sopwiths' attempt to market a civilianised military aircraft after the armistice, which was not successful. |
