Avro Triplane

Kit: Impact (1:48)

This is the Inpact 1/48 Avro Triplane 1910. This is a lovely kit, as are all the Inpact ones, painted with Mr Kit Italian Light CDL, rigged with Nylon Fishing Line and sporting a CSM prop with a PART boss. The AVRO decal was printed on an inkjet printer using Expert Choice decal paper.


Avro Biplane

Kit: Impact (1:48)

This is the Inpact 1/48 Avro Biplane. Colours are Gunze Sanyo Sail and Humbrol Wood. Nylon Fishing Wire rigging painted black for control wires and metal for flying, landing and drag wires. Eduard turnbuckles; CSM prop and boss. This is the last of the 'Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' kits I have to do. Pity, I loved making them.


bleriot XI

Kit: Pyro (ex-Impact) (1:48)

This is the Pyro (ex-Inpact) 1/48 Bleriot XI. Finished in Mr. Kit French CDL and Gunge Sanyo Wood overpainted with Orange Clear acrylic. The fuselage bracing wires are from the AJP Maquette Bleriot. The prop is CSM /Marty Dygmaer and the wing bracing and warping wires are Nylon fishing line


Bristol Boxkite

Kit: Impact (1:48)

This is the Inpact 1/48 Bristol Boxkite in the Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines series.. The Inpact kits were lovely models to build. Pity they didn't do OT kits Finish is Matt White with Humbrol Wood painted struts finished withClear Yellow. Rigging is .006 Nylon line painted black.


Deperdussin 1911

Kit: Inpact (1:48)

The Deperdussin 1911 was entered for many of big racing and cross-country events before WWI. It was used by a lot of flying schools in Belgium, France and England. Another one featured in the film 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines'. Prop and boss by CSM


Martin-Handasyde 1910

Kit: Inpact (1:48)

One of those lovely Inpact kits from the 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' series. This is a version of the French Antoinette design by Martin & Handasyde at Brooklands. It is one of the most beautiful of the pre-WWI pioneer aircraft, here fitted with a Bleriot propellor.


Wright Flyer

Kit: Revell (1:39)

This is the Revell 1/39 Wright Flyer which I saw at the Smithsonian a few years ago. I know its not strictly OT, but I had to have it in my collection of pioneer aircraft
