Michael Kendix's Italian Models
This is the 1/72nd scale Nieuport 17c kit from Esci. This is Baracca's
aeroplane and I used many of the ideas explained by Alberto Casirati in Fine
Scale Modeler, April 1999. If you look carefully, the French roundels were
sprayed over and covered with aluminium dope on the top wing. The cockpit
was scratchbuilt. Various parts were replaced. The interplane struts and
wheels were from Roseplane. I sanded the kit's engine out of the cowl and
replaced it with one from the spares' box. I drilled drainage holes in the
cowl.
