Kit: Airfix (1:600)
This was built as a display stand for the scratchbuilt Sopwith Strutter and Camel that are sat on the flying-off platforms on the gun turrets. Nigel Denchfield of the IPMS(UK) Battleship SIG gave me lots of help for colours and explanations of the strange terms the nautical types use. It took far longer than I anticipated - I got carried away with the ships boats and started scratchbuilding whalers and pinnaces, then paravanes and anchor chains. Ships have far too much detail for their own good.
