Central Powers Model Images

This is the 1/48 DML model of the Fokker D.VII, all done up in the markings
of Ernst Udet. The model is pretty-much finished out of the box, except for
the hand-carved prop. I used the kit decals, and did quite a bit of
hand-painting and airbrushing over the white portions as they turned pink
when placed on the red fuselage. I used Copper State lozenge on the lower
wing, and Floquil Railroad colors for the red (ATSF Red) and white (Reefer
White). I rigged this model with surgical wire. The upper-wing crosses
came from a FW-190 decal sheet (the crosses were white on the kit decal
sheet, so sue me!). In all, alot of fun!
This is the 1/48 Koster kit of the Siemens-Schuckert D.IV. The kit is true
multi-media, with vaccuform, white metal, resin, and photoetch. The model
represents an aircraft flown by Ltn. Lenz, Staffelfuhrer of Jasta 22. The
fuselage is dark-varnished plywood, which I replicated with oil paints. The
lozenge decal is by Copper State, but all else basically comes from the kit.
I rigged it with surgical wire, purchased at the IPMS Nationals. I have
been working on and off with this kit for two years. It's about time it was
finished!
