Nieuport 17 - Flyboys

Kit: Eduard (1:72)

This is the Eduard Flyboys limited edition 1/72 Nieuport 17. Built with a few modifications such as lead foil seatbelts, wire bracing added to the interior, and holes drilled in the seat for a more authentic appearance. Special thanks to Andy Bannister for all his help and to Andrei Koribanicks, Karl Juelch and Marty Eisenbraun for their support.

Toko Nieuport 11

Kit: Toko (1:72)

This is the Toko Nieuport 11. Built OOB and rigged with .005 stainless. The l/g is scratched, as I destroyed the Rosemont resin replacement set, and had already used the kit l/g for the Merlin Bebe. Thank you Contrail.

Toko Nieuport 16C

Kit: Toko (1:72)

This is the Toko Nieuport 16C. Rigged with Ethicon .005 stainless. The interior was beefed-up with the help of Alberto's photos. The skis were "accurized" with help from Tom Morgan's photos of his Morane. I tried for a more weathered look with this kit. For the CDL color, I chose Sand by Model Master. I used a Van Dyke Brown Derwent Water color pencil for the "ribs". Then a coat of Future "brush applied" to smear and lighten the brown pencil. All decals are from the kit. They had no reaction at all to either Solvaset or Micro set.

Merlin Nieuport Bebe

Kit: Merlin (1:72)

This is the Merlin Bebe. OOB, and fully rigged with .005 surgical wire. Color used for the CDL is Panzer interior Buff. Decals are MicroScale, and the rudder stripes are painted. The Horizontal stabilizer is scratched, and the ailerons have been romoved, and re-positioned.

Toko Nieuport Bebe

Kit: Toko (1:72)

This is the Toko Bebe. Many interior details have been scratched and added. Top wing mount is scratched, and kit m/g replaced with a Lewis type to match a photo. Rigged with Ethicon stainless. Many thanks to Alberto Casirati for his inspiration and invaluable help with this project.

Rosemont Nieuport Triplane

Kit: Rosemont (1:72)

This is the Rosemont all resin Nieuport triplane. The kit is well engineered and thought out. Practically a "box-shaker". You may want to substiture your own decals, but the kit ones are usable. The only thing that was added to the kit was the control horns on the tail feathers, some ethicon stainless rigging, and a stretched sprue control stick. The interior comes complete with two seats, a detailed floor, instrument panel, and a rear bulkhead.Interior structure is crisply molded into the sides of the fuselage. Highly recommended for the Franc-o-phile. This is only my third all resin kit...it was a joy to build.
